July Reading Advent

I'm so excited to announce that we're officially over halfway through with this year! And I'm happy that I get to do another reading advent, because this theme was very fun. This month's reading advent theme is historical fiction! I've always had a certain fascination with the past, and historical fiction is like a portal to any time period you want.   Uglies By Scott Westerfeld Uglies synopsis: Tally is about to turn sixteen, and she can't wait. In just a few weeks she'll have the operation that will turn her from a repellent ugly into a stunning pretty. And as a pretty, she'll be catapulted into a high-tech paradise where her only job is to have fun. But Tally's new friend Shay isn't sure she wants to become a pretty. When Shay runs away, Tally learns about a whole new side of the pretty world- and it isn't very pretty. The authorities offer Tally a choice: find her friend and turn her in, or never turn pretty at all. Tally's choice will change her world forever... -From goodreads.com This book made my heart pound and my jaw drop the whole way through! I absolutely loved the plotline and rooted for Tally the whole way. I highly recommend this novel for anyone looking for a thrill! No content warnings that come to my mind, so I recommend this for anyone 13+. Enjoy reading this amazing story! -Lylia
