Lord of the Flies

Image
Lord of the Flies By William Golding Lord of the Flies synopsis: At the dawn of the next world war, a plane crashes on an uncharted island, stranding a group of schoolboys. At first, with no adult supervision, their freedom is something to celebrate; this far from civilization the boys can do anything they want. Anything. They attempt to forge their own society, failing, however, in the face of terror, sin and evil. And as order collapses, as strange howls echo in the night, as terror begins its reign, the hope of adventure seems as far from reality as the hope of being rescued. Labeled a parable, an allegory, a myth, a morality tale, a parody, a political treatise, even a vision of the apocalypse, Lord of the Flies is perhaps our most memorable novel about “the end of innocence, the darkness of man’s heart.” -From Goodreads.com For years, I've gotten so many recommendations for this book, and for a while, I put off reading it because I thought, It's a classic... it might be ...

Renegades By Marissa Meyer Renegades synopsis: Secret Identities. Extraordinary Powers. She wants vengeance. He wants justice. The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies — humans with extraordinary abilities — who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone... except the villains they once overthrew. Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice — and in Nova. But Nova's allegiance is to a villain who has the power to end them both. -From goodreads.com SPEECHLESS. That's all I can say. (Just kidding. Sort of.) From beginning to end, this good vs. evil story had me absolutely captivated. The characters were incredible, the plot was fast-paced and engaging, and WOW, talk about world-building! I literally have zero complaints ...
