 Hello, all! I've been thinking long and hard about this, and I've finally decided on five authors who deserve to be on the Top 5 list of best authors based on skill. These are the authors whose writing, world-building, character development, and ideas exceed all others. Hope you enjoy! 5. Suzanne Collins (The Hunger Games) Wow! This author's insight into the minds of her characters is amazing, and her writing is so powerful! Not only that, but her young adult series The Hunger Games has been cherished for over a decade.  4. Marissa Meyer (Cinder) Okay, this author seems to know exactly what her audience wants, because her unique worlds, intriguing plots, and wonderful characters that you can't help rooting for are such a treat to read.
